Mason Mount's arrival at Old Trafford is imminent. The midfielder completed medical tests and finalised the details of his new deal on Tuesday morning.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand defended his former club's business as he does not think they will overpay for his transfer. The former centre-back gave his opinion in his podcast and compared it to Kai Havertz's signing for Arsenal.
"Kai Havertz didn't do the numbers that we're talking about. He has been bought based on last season, his numbers weren't top, they weren't great," he began.
"If you've got the numbers Mason Mount had from the time Chelsea won the Champions League, and the season after, what would his valuation be? If you put it in that context, you can't say that Mount is going to go for below Havertz. You're smoking bro, no chance." he added.
Moreover, Ferdinand praised the Englishman and said he is looking forward to seeing him play in a United shirt next season: "He's a very good signing. He'll be a valuable member of the squad. He's a good player, a top player, I love the way he plays football."
