Raúl García acknowledged this Sunday, after losing to Alavés at Mendizorroza that the Bilbao team is not where its own players know it should be. The match leaves Athletic in the relegation zone.
"We have to recognise that we are not as we know we should be, from there the improvement is going to come and now two weeks are coming in which there is going to be time to think a lot but also to work and think about the next match," he reflected in statements given out by the Basque club.
Raúl, in this sense, is clear that "to improve it is necessary to recognize the errors, to look for where the failures are". "And, from there, to work to improve because, as we have always said, whether it goes well or badly, we are the ones on the inside who have to move forward and that is what we have to do," he added.
After the match, in statements to 'Gol', the forward recognised that: "we are not doing things as we should and that is why we are like this".
"We cannot hide that we are not doing things as we should and that is why we are like this. They didn't generate so many chances either, but when they get a chance they score and we are having trouble finishing", he pointed out the causes of the bad start to the season, with three defeats in four games.
