Liepaja hosted Super Nova in a Latvian Higher League match on Friday.
The home side took the lead in the 12th minute when Pablo Martin Marta Rodriguez scored. Seconds later, Super Nova restored parity through Ricards Rullis' goal. It remained 1-1 until half-time and then a 72nd minute own goal by Jevgenijs Minins put Liepaja 2-1 up. Arturs Karasausks then sealed the points for the hosts four minutes from time. Liepaja's second game of the season is at home to Riga on 19th March while Super Nova's next game is at home to FK Auda on 20th March.
