The Venezuelan national team have confirmed two new friendlies. The 'Vinotinto', coached by Jose Pekerman, will travel again to Europe to face Iceland on Thursday 22nd September and UAE on 27th September in Vienna;" the FVF said on Twitter.
Therefore, Pekerman will continue preparing for a new era for Venezuela, who played two friendlies last June against Saudi Arabia and Malta and won both of them.
Venezuela have never qualified for the World Cup and this year was no exception. They came bottom in South American World Cup qualifying with 10 points. They won three matches, drew one and lost 14. Pekerman's goal is to try and lead them to a World Cup and he joined them last November until 2026.
As for UAE, they were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after losing to Australia in an AFC play-off. Iceland did not qualify either as they came fifth in their group with nine points.
