Athletic Club left San Mames very angry on Sunday. Not because of their performance, but because of the decisions made by Gil Manzano, specifically the goal disallowed for handball by Iker Muniain.
One by one, the players and representatives of the Basque side went on 'DAZN' to show their disapproval of the disallowed goal decision. One of them was Mikel Balenziaga.
"The VAR can't get involved in plays like that, it takes away from the spectacle. We want to see faster, more constant football, without so much pause," said Balenziaga about the controversial action.
Despite the defeat, Balenziaga was pleased with the team's performance: "Our last two games we haven't won, but they've been good and that's the way forward. If we go out like that in Valladolid, we'll be able to claim the victory".
"It's not a big problem to replace Yuri, it's just playing a game, an opportunity. I'm in good rhythm and I'm available when the coach needs me," he said.
