Midfielder Thiago Alcantara began his professional career in Barcelona's age group teams. Afterwards, he broke into the first team before leaving Barcelona in 2013.
The current Liverpool player told 'BT Sport' when he decided it was the right time to leave Barca. "I played with a lot of legends there, then I was struggling to play as many minutes as I wanted...," he said.
It was then when Pep Guardiola, who was on the Barca bench until 2012, became Bayern coach. He was the reason why Thiago decided to leave the Camp Nou.
"Guardiola left Barca and joined Bayern. He asked me what was happening and I told: 'I need minutes, I have to play," so he went to Munich. "I saw Bayern as a great challenge. They had won the Champions League and I wanted to do it with them," he continued.
And that is what he did. Thiago won the Champions League at Barca, again at Bayern and who knows whether he will also win it at Liverpool.
