Argentina have confirmed that Rodrigo de Paul could be out of the squad for the crucial match against the Netherlands. The Atletico Madrid player tried to reassure his followers on his social media: "Everything is fine," he wrote.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni was outraged with the press over the leak of Rodrigo de Paul's possible injury: "I don't know if we are playing for Argentina or for the Netherlands," he said.
"They're doing well. We're going to see them in training today to decide the line-up. Yesterday we trained behind closed doors and I don't know where this information comes from. Today we will make the decision on how we want to approach the match. That is the most important thing. The truth is always that after a match there are players who train separately or do half the session based on the number of minutes played," the coach added.
"He hasn't played because I haven't seen the opportunity but Paulo is fine," he said on Paulo Dybala.
The manager showed the great enthusiasm of the squad: "The match is important, like the day against Australia or Poland. This team have played well and not so well, but they have always given their all," Scaloni concluded.
