Saudi authorities investigate Cristiano for his obscene gestures

Cristiano Ronaldo has been making a collection of controversial gestures this season in Saudi Arabia. His usual ostentatious complaints to referees when he feels they have made a mistake have been coupled, of late, with some actions that have ended up prompting an investigation by the Middle Eastern country's football authorities. In particular, an action in the match against Al Shabab this weekend will be looked at in detail.

The Portuguese fed up with the home fans chanting "Messi, Messi", addressed the fans directly, putting his hand to his ear to indicate, mockingly, that he was not listening to them - or that he wanted to hear them better. Then he put his hand to his crotch and shook it. For obvious reasons, it is not possible to determine what his intention was or what he meant when he made this movement.

The media outlet reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo's gesture against Al Shabab is to be investigated is 'Asharq al-Awsat', which claims there will be a ruling in around two days. It cites the Saudi League Disciplinary Commission, which, if it rules against the Portuguese, could rule him out of the match against Al Hazem in a few days. After that, the former Manchester United man will play the first leg of the Asian Champions League quarter-final against Al Ain.
