Ramos missed Friday's training session. He was also absent from Saturday's session and set off alarm bells.
Real Madrid confirmed that their captain is injured: "Following the tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with tendonitis in the semimembranosus muscle of his left hamstring. His recovery will continue to be assessed," the club said in a brief statement.
The club have not given an estimated time of absence for this latest injury to Ramos. What is clear is that he will definitely not be able to play in Sunday's important La Liga game against Sevilla.
The medical staff and the player will together decide when Ramos can return to action. Yet another setback for the central defender at the back end of this season.
