Not all the talk at Tottenham is about Kane, Son and Alli. The Spurs goalkeeper can take some of the credit for Mauricio Pochettino's men showing great potential year after year. Tottenham beat Manchester City in the first leg of the quarter-finals and did so partly thanks to Hugo Lloris.
The French keeper stopped the penalty which was awarded via VAR. It was Agüero who launched it, a specialist, but Lloris had other ideas.
This year, the Tottenham goalkeeper had to face three penalties and managed to stop them all. Had he not stopped two of the three shots, the result of two matches would have been different.
First he saved a penalty against Leicester, but if he didn't, Tottenham would also have won, as the match ended 3-1. In March, Lloris stopped a 91st minute penalty against Arsenal when the match was at 1-1 and the most recent, against Manchester City, he stopped when the score board read 0-0 and could have changed the outcome of the game, as it happened in the 13th minute.
