GK: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace)
The shot stopper proved crucial for the 'Eagles' as they managed to hold Manchester United to a goalless draw at Old Trafford. He made five saves, including one from a clear cut opportunity for the home side. He also won four aerial duels, as he was an ever commanding presence in the penalty area. For a brilliant performance away from home, Hennessey is a straight forward inclusion for our team of the week.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
The young Englishman has been one of the Merseyside club's top performers in recent weeks, and proved the difference once more against Watford. Scoring one of the strikes of the weekend, if not the season with a free kick, Arnold the difference for Liverpool, thriving as both an attacking and defensive asset for his team.
CB: Christopher Schindler (Huddersfield Town)
The centre half was excellent for the 'Terriers' as they won away from home against the slick passing play of Wolves. Schindler helped his side keep a clean sheet and maintain a higher possession average than their opponents in a convincing win at Molineux.
CB: Ciaran Clark (Newcastle United)
A commanding display in the centre of the Newcastle back line, Clark helped his side stave off a late Burnley comeback to register a vital win away from home. The Irishman was the epitome of a warrior; as he hammered home the second goal of the game and kept his opponents at bay, as Benitez side picked up only their third win of the campaign to move four points clear of the drop zone.
LB: Fabian Delph (Manchester City)
Having captained his country at the heart of the midfield during the international break, Delph stepped into his familiar left back position for his club side at the London Stadium on Saturday. The Englishman was once again a more than capable deputy for injured Benjamin Mendy, as his wide combination play with German Leroy Sane helped the reigning champions to yet another victory.
CDM: Phillip Billing (Huddersfield Town)
Billing ran the show for Huddersfield as they won 2-0 away to Wolves. He overawed big names like Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves to help Huddersfield stay solid in the middle of the park, and be clinical when it mattered at the top end of the pitch. To boot, Billing also made a crucial goal line clearance when the scores were level, directly insuring that his side kept a clean sheet away from home.
RM: Raheem Sterling
In the absence of Kevin de Bruyne this season, Sterling has been one of the players to really step up for the reigning champions. Sterling notched one goal and one sublime assist as City romped to a 4-0 win at the London Stadium, proving that he has become indispensible for Pep Guardiola's side.
CM: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)
Alli was one of the key performers for 'Spurs' as they continued their excellent recent run if form against London rivals Chelsea. A constant threat in attack and a complete menace in the face of Chelsea pass master Jorginho, Alli was one of the catalysts for a dominant display for the home side at Wembley. His tireless work ethic and pressing of Jorginho ensured that his side could control the ball and completely overrun their opponents. Alli scored one and set up another to ensure that 'Spurs' were the worthy winners of the match.
CM: Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town)
Another of the 'Terriers' key performers, alongside Phillip Billing, he controlled the midfield against Wolves. Scoring both of his sides goals in the 2-0 win at Molineux, Mooy continues to prove his capability to play at the very top level in the English top flight, and is well deserving of a place in the team of the week.
LM: Leroy Sané (Manchester City)
After scoring his first two senior international goals during the recent break, Sané continued his fine start to the season against West Ham. Arguably the standout player of the entire weekend, Sane was the man of the match at the London Stadium, scoring two goals and providing one assist as City ran out 4-0 winners. The German will be hoping that this display encourages manager Guardiola to hand him a start in midweek against Lyon in the Champions League.
ST: Aleksandr Mitrovic (Fulham)
In a timely return to form for the entire Fulham squad, Mitrovic was the main man as the 'Cottagers' earned a precious victory at home. The Serbian struck twice as his side held off fellow strugglers Southampton, to record a win in Claudio Ranieri's first match in charge.
