The Fuenlabrada v Girona game saw one of the craziest incidents in football. The referee sent off a footballer, took it away and then gave him a second yellow for confronting an opponent after returning to the field of play.
It was Cristobal of Fuenlabrada. He made a bad challenge high on Granell's hip. Isidro Diaz de Mera Escuderos gave him a straight red, but after an on-field review, the official changed it to a yellow as he did not catch him with his leg, but with his body.
The footballer was called back because he had already gone down the tunnel. After being given a reprieve, he went to confront Granell. Both players were booked and as it was Cristobal's second, he was sent off once again.
Jose Fran was also cautioned for his protests as the cards came out in the second half. A second period which saw more cards than football.
