French authorities are wary of unrest in the Champions League game between PSG and Maccabi-Haifa which takes place this Tuesday evening (20:00 CEST), due to the fact that PSG ultras who support the Palestine-side of the conflict may be in contact with the Israeli supporters.
According to 'L'Equipe', the match which will be played at the Parc des Princes, is considered to be at level 3 out of 5, which means it presents "identifiable risks to public order".
The French authorities think that because the PSG ultras (Collectif Ultras Paris, CUP) support the Palestinian side, it could provoke unrest before the game with the near 1,700 Israelian fans who have made the rtip from Haifa, of which some are ultra-Zionist, 'Le Parisien' warns.
Palestine flags and other chants against Israel could be present in the stadium. Therefore, military police officers will be around the stadium to try and avoid violence.
The Israeli fans are already angry with certain PSG players for their stance on the conflict between Israel and Palestine. In particular Achraf Hakimi (Spanish-Moroccan), who was whistled and booed when he went to Israel.
