Barcelona continue their hunt for a player to replace Sergio Busquets. Many names have come across the table in the Camp Nou, including most recently Marcelo Brozovic. However it looks like he has other plans, and is on the verge of finalising his deal with Al Nassr.
So the Catalans continue. According to Gerard Romero, with 'Jijantes', Barcelona have another two names in consideration already.
The first is Dani Parejo. The Villarreal midfielder has another year left on his contract, but Romero claims he could leave on a free transfer.
The other alternative that Barcelona finds appealing is Oriol Romeu, under contract with Girona until 2025. His fee would be €10 million, but the Catalans could try to get him for less.
Lately, the Spanish champions have been doing nothing but erasing names of players from their wish list. Xavi's favourites for this particular position were Kimmich and Zubimendi, but their price tags and contract obligations would likely prevent their departure to Barcelona.
In the case of Zubimendi, Gerard Romero claims that there is only a 1% chance that he will be persuaded to leave Real Sociedad for Barcelona. It remains to be seen whether, in that case, the club will then go for Parejo or Romeu.
It is clear that, given the state of the market, if they don't move quickly, any player could be tempted to leave for Saudi Arabia, the 'nouveau riche' of football.
