"Mbappe doesn't need my advice, he knows how to manage himself"

Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid's France international, said on Thursday that Kylian Mbappe does not need his advice because "he is already mature enough" and is used to managing "well" situations like the current one, in which he has not yet made his next destination official after leaving PSG.

"He doesn't need my advice, he's mature enough and he's used to managing these situations well," Griezmann said from Clairefontaine.

The Colchonero striker avoided talking about what Mbappe's eventual arrival at Real Madrid would mean for La Liga. "It's not the time to think about La Liga, I'm sorry," the player said with a smile.

Griezmann, asked several times about Mbappe, clarified that it is the responsibility of the national team's technical staff and internationals to create "the best conditions" for their star player.

"He's scored 44 goals this season! I don't like, in general, this kind of statistics, but we are talking about 44 goals," the Atletico attacker claimed.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid's France international Antoine Griezmann said on Thursday that his participation in the Paris Olympics will be decided soon - Thierry Henry will give a first list on 3 June - but made it clear that he does not want his eventual participation to jeopardise his future at the Spanish club.

"It's a dream to go to the Olympics, but then it's up to the club to decide, and at the moment they're not very keen. In any case, it will be decided soon. I can't do anything else, I just don't want it to be a problem for my future at Atletico," he said.

The 33-year-old Atletico striker insisted he is looking forward to being at the Olympics, even though it will be a busy end to the season, with the European Championship in Germany taking place between 14 June and 14 July.

Griezmann also said he will remain at Atletico next season and, to a question about interest from Saudi Arabian football, acknowledged that he has turned down offers. 

"I've had offers, calls, but I want to continue. I made a lot of efforts to come back and be accepted again. It's at Atletico where I want to finish in Europe, it's a pride to be there," he concluded.
