It all seemed to be good news at Manchester City until Thursday morning when a new setback was confirmed for the Sky Blues. Kevin de Bruyne is suffering from a groin injury and will be sidelined until he recovers.
The 32-year-old midfielder's injury was confirmed by Belgium coach Tedesco, who did not include him in his squad for the friendlies against Ireland and England on 23 and 25 March respectively.
"He's been playing with a minor groin issue in the last games. It's better to give him time to recover well at City and have him ready for the Euros," said the Belgian coach.
In fact, De Bruyne was just getting back to his best form after a five-month absence due to surgery on an hamstring injury that has seen him make just 14 competitive appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing 12 assists.
