Real Madrid's young talent's future at the club may be in jeopardy after sustaining a broken metatarsal whilst on-loan at Dutch club Heerenveen.
The 19-year-old joined the club in January 2017, and has since scored two goals and provided two assists in 26 outings this season.
Odegaard was due to return to Real Madrid this summer, but his chances of rejoining the fold may be reduced after he picked up the injury during Heerenveen's 2-1 win over Heracles on Sunday.
Madrid were monitoring his performance whilst on-loan, and wanted Odegaard to return in order to link up with 17-year-old Vinicius Junior at the end of this season.
The young midfielder signed for 'Los Blancos' in 2015 for almost £3million, and was reportedly earning £80,000-a-week, and was sent away temporarily to continue his development.
