It was an open secret, until Paris Saint-Germain made it official. After weeks of leaked details of the transfer, PSG have finally announced the signing of Lieke Martens on their social media and website.
The Dutch international, after five years with Barcelona Femenino, has refused to renew her contract with the Catalan giants and has signed with the Parisian club until 30th June 2025, that is, for the next three seasons.
As a 'Cule', Martens won nine national titles, as well as her first Champions League, also the first in the history of the club.
Martens' departure from Barça has been marked by controversy, as the Dutch international is said to have confirmed to the Catalan club that she would renew her contract. In fact, there was even talk of a deal to continue her contract in February, but at the last minute, Lieke decided to accept PSG's offer without even informing Barcelona.
