It looks like there's at least one person at Barcelona who isn't ready for the transfer window to close just yet. Ahead of his side's match against Villarreal, club president Joan Laporta spoke to 'Movistar La Liga', and left the door open for more signings before September 1st.
"We have the margin with Financial Fair Play to sign more than just one player", declared Laporta. The first looks likely to be Joao Cancelo, who has been linked for a while with the Catalan side, and could leave Manchester City this summer to join the 'Cules'.
Asked about the possible arrival of Joao Felix, who expressed his own desire to leave Atletico Madrid for Barca, Laporta was a touch more hesitant: "That you would have to ask Deco about, he's working to make the squad as competitive as possible".
As for the complicated situation in which Ansu Fati finds himself, wanting to stay but likely miss out on playing time this season, Laporta was positive about him: "Ansu is extraordinary, we all love him. It was Xavi who decided to bring him in and he's a special member of the team who we want to improve. We're very happy that he's still with us."
Asked about the Rubiales affair and the forced kiss by the FA president, Laporta took a stand: "I want to reiterate what was said in the press release. Rubiales' behaviour was inappropriate, I would even say shameful, and we in no way wanted to excuse it. We're with the players, Jenni (Hermoso) we're with you, we thought Rubiales was going to resign."
