Milan coach Stefano Pioli said on Wednesday that his side, despite losing 2-0 to Inter in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, were the better side in a second half that lacked a goal.
"Inter played better than us in the first half and scored two goals. We were better in the second half and we weren't able to score," the coach commented on 'Amazon Prime Video Italia' after the game.
"Clearly, Inter were more clinical and had more quality in the first half and we lost a lot of balls for the level required. But until the seventh minute Inter hadn't entered the box. We have to be more careful," he added.
Pioli, despite the result and the image given, is confident of a comeback next week. "We wanted something else and another result. We have to believe, because everything can change in the second leg. The aim was to be an intense, solid and aggressive team, but I think Inter were better in most of the duels," he explained.
