It seems difficult that Thomas Partey will leave Atlético Madrid, although the interest in the Ghanaian is growing. He is one of Atlético's biggest values and for that reason, his continuity can't be taken for granted. Especially as his release clause is just 50 million euros.
If he has to leave, something that already happened with key men such as Rodrigo and Griezmann in the recent past, Atlético Madrid have two reinforcements in mind.
The first of the men that they like is Thomas' compatriot Idrissu Baba. According to 'Cadena SER', Atlético are closely following the Mallorca player, who is under contract until 2022 and renewed recently.
He isn't the only one, and precisely, perhaps the one out of the two that Atlético have less interest in. The main target is Mauro Arambarri, the Uruguyan who is shining for Getafe.
He has a more accessible release clause than the African (25 compared to 45) and 'Mundo Deportivo' place him very close to Atlético.
Arambarri is 24 and other European teams such as Inter and Monaco, have shown an interest in his services. Although Marcos Llorente's improvement invites Atlético not to sign just for the sake of it, it is true that with a hypothetical exit of Thomas it would shield Atlético in the midfield. In that case, Simeone would have no other option but to sign.
