Real Madrid have been dealt a huge blow just a day before the start of La Liga 2023/2024. 'Los Blancos' have confirmed through their official networks that Thibaut Courtois, their first choice goalkeeper and one of the most important players for Carlo Ancelotti, has torn his ACL.
According to 'Relay' the Belgian goalkeeper was injured during training and had to be stretchered off the pitch. It is worth remembering that this injury is so serious that it often means up to 9 months on the sidelines.
Given this situation Real Madrid may have to use Lunin in their starting XI until they sign a more established goalkeeper, with De Gea one of the candidates to replace Courtois after the Spaniard left United and became a free agent.
It should be noted that the former Manchester United goalkeeper was already close to signing for the 'Merengues' but the transfer could not be carried out due to a problem of administration at the last minute of the transfer window.
