Erling Haaland is on fire. The Man City star is breaking all the records and this weekend, once more, he could make history. In his hands is the opportunity to beat Ronaldo and Drogba's hat-trick record, if he manages to net another three goals against Southampton.
Troy Deeney is certain that the Norwegian will achieve this. In his column in 'The Sun', the Birmingham City man compared him to the boxer Mike Tyson. "Haaland reminds me of Mike Tyson at his peak, who mentally beat his opponents even before starting the fight" Deeney claimed.
The Birmingham City striker even thinks that it is impossible to compare the star with others: "I would not compare him with any other central attacker, and not even with any other footballer."
Deeney maintains that Haaland can beat the all-time goals record for a Premier League season, which Dixie Dean (Everton) currently holds, with 60 goals in one season. "I think that Haaland could go further than that. If he continues at this rate, and plays evert match this season, he would finish with around 66 goals", he said.
"There were people who thought he would not be able to keep up the level he showed at Borussia Dortmund in the Premier League, the hardest league in the world. Are players not meant to need a bit of time to settle in when they move to England? That is another myth Haaland has debunked. And, call me crazy, but I think he could become even more lethal when his team-mates adjust to his style of play", he ended.
