Manchester United ended their first half of the season before the international break in the best possible way. Although Fulham fought until the very last moment and equalised after Eriksen's goal in the first half, Garnacho's last-gasp goal gave the Red Devils the three points.
During the first half Ten Hag's team were in control as they kept possession and played the ball out from the back. Fulham also created a few chances but the most dangerous chances came from the Mancunians.
The visitors were soon a goal up thanks to a great move finished by Eriksen. Casemiro stole the ball from Cairney with a lovely tackle and Eriksen received the ball. The midfielder found Martial and the Frenchman fed Bruno Fernandes inside the box unmarked. The Portuguese squared the ball to the far post where Eriksen pushed the ball into the net.
Manchester United could have gone into the break two up but they failed to convert three clear-cut chances. In the 30th minute Rashford found Martial and the Frenchman, once inside the box after playing a one-two with Bruno Fernandes, shot across but Leno managed to parry the shot. The same former Monaco player ten minutes later came close to extending the lead after his header flew over Leno's goal following Shaw's cross from the left flank.
Eriksen, who had already scored the first goal of the game, went close to scoring his brace. In the last play before the break, Bruno Fernandes squared the ball to the far post, where Eriksen, unmarked, shot at the near post with Leno already beaten but the ball went just wide of the near post.
However, Fulham did not throw in the towel. Just a minute after replacing Harry Wilson, Dan James scored the equaliser following a good counter-attack. Willian received the ball in space and found Cairney unmarked on the left flank, and the Scot squared the ball into the six-yard box, where James pushed the ball into the net.
