Former footballer Rio Ferdinand took to 'BT Sport' to preview Real Madrid-Chelsea. The Manchester United legend won over the home fans with a much-appreciated gesture.
Ferdinand ordered the pitch-side stand to be moved. The reason? He had to step on the Real Madrid crest, something he felt was disrespectful to the home side.
The former Red Devils player explained what happened in a video he posted on his Twitter feed. "I think we need to have a conversation, Cole, what are you asking us to do, mate?" he said, addressing his broadcasting partner, also a former footballer.
Joe Cole explained the problem: "They ask us to stand on the Madrid crest. You can't do that, man.
Ferdinand then took the decision. "Here we had the intention to put ourselves, but we are going to talk to the boss. We can't do that. We're going to change it so we don't stand on the crest."
Cole joked about stepping on the Madrid crest could wake the beast. "We don't want to poke the bear on a night like this..." he said with a chuckle.
