Chile's defeat to Uruguay has led to much anger in the Chile camp, especially from Claudio Bravo, the oldest player in the group. He has slammed the referee after the game.
Was it a penalty? The ball definitely hit the Uruguayan player's arm, but the referee Eber Aquino and the VAR deemed it to be close enough to his body. Maxi Gomez then scored a stoppage time winner for Uruguay in the 2022 World Cup qualifier.
"You're robbed in the street, on toll roads, the increase in transport fares, fuel, education, health and now a penalty," Bravo wrote on Twitter. "If you give what we all see, we would've been 1-2 up in the 90th minute had we scored the penalty. With things like this, it's impossible to get points. Terrible!!!," he continued.
The Chile keeper was firm in his criticism. "Being robbed has become common for almost all Chileans." he concluded.
