Chelsea trying to outbid Man City for Palace's Olise

Chelsea have reportedly sent an offer to Crystal Palace for 21-year-old Michael Olise. According to 'Daily Mail' the bid is a first offer, but is worth £39 million plus bonuses, which is more than the winger's £35 million buyout clause.

It appears they have made the over bid for two reasons: firstly, to secure favourable payment terms as they did with Nicolas Jackson's move from Villarreal, and secondly to try and shut out competition from Manchester City, who have also reportedly expressed interest in the Frenchman.

Palace have also offered the in-demand youngster a new contract to stay with the club, but according to 'RMC Sport' journalist, Fabrice Hawkins, he has met with Mauricio Pochettino and is sold on the project at Stamford Bridge.

He made 37 Premier League appearances last season, clocking two goals and 11 assists. He was also a crucial part of France's U21 Euros team, but suffered a hamstring injury that will see him miss the start of next season. Despite this, he still has several clubs vying for him, as he presents a well-priced investment if he can stay fit.
