Leicester told Chelsea on up to three occasions that Wesley Fofana was not for sale. However, Chelsea's insistence forced the Foxes to put a departure fee of 80 million pounds for their prolific defender. In addition, the French centre-back told the big wigs at the King Power Stadium that he wanted to leave for London this summer.
This has become even clearer as time as gone on. Fabrizio Romano said that the French defender was not in Brendan Rodgers' squad for the match against Southampton. The Northern Irish manager said that the footballer was not "in the right state of mind" to play the game.
Leicester stuck a few weeks ago to the aforementioned 80 million pounds and the aim is to not reduce that amount by a single penny. If Thomas Tuchel wants to have Fofana at this disposal this season, Chelsea will have to get the chequebook out.
If that were not enough, Leicrester midfielder Youri Tielemans is in a similar situation. Nevertheless, the Belgian international will start on the bench.
