All is set for Edinson Cavani's arrival to the Wanda Metropolitano. The Uruguayan is the main target for Atletico Madrid to lead the attack for the side in the second half of the season.
Media outlet from the whole world have reported the signing of the Uruguayan for 'Los Rojiblancos' subject to both clubs reaching an agreement on the fee.
And the thing is Atletico Madrid have apparently made a first offer for the veteran striker, but Paris Saint Germain refused it for being too low. The French side will not sit down to negotiate for less than 30 million.
'Mundo Deportivo' published this Tuesday that PSG have started to admit that Cavani's departure for the Parc des Princes is a possibility, but Atletico will only give 15 million euros, half of the amount they want.
Both Leonardo, the PSG sporting director, and Thomas Tuchel, the coach, have made public that the Uruguayan striker has asked to leave since his priority is to work under Diego Simeone.
Edinson's contract will expire on 30th June, so he can negotiate his future with the club he wishes. That's the reason why he himself has got in contact with the Argentinian coach.
The lack of understanding with regards to the official figure for the signing is the only stumbling block for the arrival of Cavani to the Spanish capital. The signing would be the first for Cholo Simeone's side in the winter transfer window.
That would end the ex-Napoli player's time in the French capital to an end after 293 official matches and 198 goals. This would be his first adventure in Spanish football.
Cavani's agent admits Atletico interest
Walter Guglielmone, the brother and the agent of Edinson Cavani has carried out some comments in Italy in which he has spoken about the PSG player's situation.
In comments to 'Calciomercato24.com', Guglielmone said: "Edi can still play at a high level for many years. Then you can have him for free, but Atletico Madrid want him at all costs, they are doing everything possible to get him."
Finally, he spoke about a hypothetical return to Napoli: "Nothing is impossible, lots can happen in the transfer market."
Once again out of the squad
While he is waiting for an agreement between both teams, Cavani is continuing to force his departure and he has been left out of the PSG squad once again for the visit to Reims in the League Cup.
"Cavani did not train with the group and he still has a knock so he will not be in the squad. We don't want to lose a player. We have to wait to see what happens because maybe nothing happens," Tuchel confirmed in a press conference.
