Whenever there is a young talent, the best clubs go out to sign them. That is the case of Joe Hardy, a 21 year-old striker who left the Brentford B team to join Liverpool's Under 23s. The Championship club confirmed the news in a statement which they also shared on Twitter.
"Brentford Football Club can confirm that Joe Hardy has joined Liverpool for an undisclosed fee," the statement began. "The striker has scored 40 goals in 80 Brentford B matches proving a clinical finisher and will join up with the European champions in a bid to continue his development."
Hardy scored two goals in the final of the 2019 Middlesex FA Senior Challenge Cup. A contribution which was enough for Brentford B to win the tournament after a 4-0 win. In his five appearances for the B team this season, he hit the target on three occasions.
"Joe has been here several years and last term he had quite a fruitful season in terms of being the top scorer and playing various matches," Neil MacFarlane, the Brentford B coach said on Hardy's move to the Reds.
