Ronald Araujo is one of Barcelona's key players. Deco has already said recently that he would not consider selling him even to sign Mbappe. In fact, the Catalan club are already working to extend his contract, which expires in June 2026.
According to 'Jijantes', the first contact between Barcelona and Araujo took place on Wednesday as the player's agents met with the board to discuss his future.
The meeting lasted approximately three hours and, among other things, they discussed the possible continuity of the Uruguayan beyond 2026. The inner circle assures that the player is happy at Camp Nou and plans to complete the two and a half years left on his contract.
Araujo has made 25 appearances for Barcelona this season, starting 22 of them. The player is one of Xavi's undisputed first-choice players, who threatened to resign before announcing that he would leave at the end of the season if the club sold him to Bayern Munich.
