The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona hosted its first match this Thursday since the change of name. The San Paolo now has the name of the Argentinian legend and the first match was Napoli versus Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
After a few minutes of Real Sociedad dominance, Napoli got off the mark at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium thanks to a lovely goal by Piotr Zielinski.
The Pole had a clear opportunity a minute earlier, but the defence cleared the ball for a corner. From that corner, the first goal of the match arrived.
After another clearance, this time from a corner, the ball reached Zielinski on the edge of the box and he volleyed with his right foot straight into Remiro's net.
The first goal scored by Napoli after Maradona's death was scored by Insigne and Zielinski was the first player to score in the newly named stadium.
