After ending his time at Madrid at the end of the 2020-21 season, Zidane has not returned to the bench. The Frenchman has been approached by teams such as PSG, Juventus and Marseille, among others, but has yet to make a decision on his future.
In relation to this, Christophe Dugarry, former team-mate of 'Zizou' with whom he became world champion, spoke about the future of his compatriot in the programme 'Rothen s'enflamme' on 'RMC'.
"He has his criteria and his wishes. Coaching for the sake of coaching means nothing, or you become a football civil servant. He's still passionate, he's shown what he wants, he hasn't hidden, but he's not willing to accept everything," he said.
"He has the advantage of having succeeded. He has passed all the stages, or almost all of them, with success. He is not going to lose his way in a club that does not interest him, that he does not like, where he is not able to transmit his knowledge of football, his passion," he added.
We will see if there is a chance that Zidane will be back in charge of a team this summer. Just over a week ago, Florence Hardouin, the former director general of the French Football Federation, recalled in 'L'Equipe' that she was accused of offering Zinedine Zidane a coaching contract behind the FFF's back.
