Zenit's board did not close the door on Monday to the sale of Brazilian Malcom to PSG before the winter transfer window closes. "Don't make a fuss. Wait until the end of the French transfer window," Zenit director general Alexandr Medvedev told 'Sport-Express'.
According to local press reports, Zenit are willing to loan the Brazilian left-back, albeit only with an option to buy for around €40m, which cost the Russians his signing from Barca in 2019.
Malcom, an Olympic champion with his country in Tokyo but who did not play in the World Cup in Qatar, has a market value of 24 million euros after scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in 17 league games for the Russian side. Both the Zenit coach and the player's agent admitted the Parisian club's interest, but denied there was a formal offer.
The agent said that the Brazilian had spoken to the Russian club, but ruled out that he was going to present them with an ultimatum to leave the team, taking advantage of the option given to him by FIFA to unilaterally break his contract due to the conflict in Ukraine.
Malcom, 25, is already familiar with French football, having played for Bordeaux before moving to Barcelona.
