Yuri announces he has coronavirus

The Athletic Bilbao player Yuri Berchiche confirmed, in an official statement on social media, that the player to test positive for COVID-19 at the Basque side is him. 

"Fortunately, I've got no symptoms and both me and my family are very well," the footballer wrote in a statement. 

"For a few days, I'll have to self-isolate and follow the corresponding health measures as I've done up to now. It will be time to work from home to return with my colleagues as soon as possible," Yuri adds. 

The full back did not travel with the rest of the teammates to Valladolid so the possibility of him infecting the Valladolid players has been ruled out.

Athletic Bilbao also announced that the rest of the members of the squad came back negative in the PCR tests carried out this Thursday and Friday at Lezama (the club's training ground).
