A few hours ago, Andriy Yarmolenko returned to West Ham after recently being granted absense from normal team activity due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The footballer, who was born in Russia but has Ukranian parents, decided to play for Ukraine. He has played in over 100 games for the national side.
The right winger appeared on social media with a furious message. He is disgusted with seeing his people continuing to be consumed and devastated by Russia's advance into Ukraine. Within the message he had strong words for his counterparts in the Russian national team.
"I am Andriy Yarmolenko, Ukranian international. Born in Saint Petersburg, but raised in Ukraine so I consider myself Ukrainian. I have a question for the Russian players, why are you sitting there like idiots and not doing or saying anything? In my country they are killing people, killing women, killing mothers, children... And you've got nothing to say about it", he commented.

Yarmolenko was direct and sincere and he asked everyone to say what they thought about the war and Russia's treatment of the Ukranian people: "Everyone is saying to me that it shouldn't be like this and that their president is a bad person. Brothers, you have influence on your people and you have to use it. Please, I'm asking you".
The West Ham man also had a few words for Artem Dzyuba, Russia's captain, who appears to be a big fan of TikTok. He asked him to use the platform to spread the message of peace.
"I know that some of you like to get in front of the camera. And now is the moment to show your balls in real life. Thanks for your attention and glory to Ukraine", concluded Yarmolenko.
