Xavi Hernandez. Al Sadd midfielder, will not be able to play in the match between Catalonia and Venezuela. Despite the fact it was going to be his last game for Catalonia, the ex-Barca man has been forced to apologise on social media. The midfielder has just come back from an injuryu and both him and Al Sadd have decided that the best thing is for him not to play in the match even though Xavi was going to receive a tribute in the match against Venezuela.
Xavi himself uploaded a long post on social media to apologise for his absence in the game this Monday: "I am sorry to announce that finally I will not be in Montilivi for the Catalonia-Venezuela match."
"My commitments with my club don't allow me to travel. Thank you very much to the Catalan Federation and specially to the President Soterasm Carles Domenech and Gerard Lopez for their interest in having me in Girona with the team.", he adds. "Hopefully next time I will be there with you all. I will be the fan number 1 supporting our team from Qatar. Visca Cataluña!" (Long live Catalonia), closed Xavi.
