The Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) imposed a one-match ban on Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez for an accumulation of cautions. Similarly, Almeria's Bruno Langa, who was sent off against Celta last time out, has been given a one-match ban.
Langa was shown a straight red card in the 65th minute of the Celta-Almeria game (1-0) for a tackle on an opponent using excessive force in a challenge for the ball, according to the referee's report.
Xavi Hernandez will have to serve a one-match ban against Mallorca next Friday, after being shown the yellow card in the 32nd minute of the Athletic Club-Barcelona match (0-0), for commenting on a referee's decision and expressing his disagreement, according to the report.
Mason Greenwood (Getafe), Jon Pacheco (Real Sociedad), Ronald Araujo (Barcelona), German Pezzella (Betis) and Omar Mascarell (Mallorca) will also miss the next matchday due to accumulation of yellow cards after matchday 27.
In other words, Barcelona, in addition to the injuries, will have two more absentees, those of Xavi and Ronald Araujo. As fate would have it, the coach and the centre-back have both saw yellow in the same match, so they will have to watch the clash against Mallorca on matchday 28 of the domestic competition from home.
