World Cup Day 1: The ones to watch

Spain v Portugal

This game is certain to be one of the highlights of the first day. Euro 2008 and 2012 champions Spain will face 2016 winners Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

France v Australi

France are one of the favourites to claim the World Cup title, and it will be interesting to see how Deschamps' squad lineup, featuring Griezmann and Mbappe.

Argentina v Iceland

The Vikings will give an indicator of the Argentina squad's form, of which a lot is expected in Russia. All eyes will be on Messi, Dybala and Agüero.

Brazil v Switzerland

The Brazilians are strong favourites heading into the tournament will debut on 17th June, with PSG striker Neymar's return to the fold capturing global attention.

Germany v Mexico

Germany are expected to go far in the tournament so we will see them flex their credentials against Mexico on the first day.
