Wijnaldum's dig at Van Gaal: "With Koeman, I have better feelings"

Georginio Wijnaldum was back to his best after suffering a niggling injury in pre-season. The Dutchman, who arrived on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, returned to the Netherlands squad after missing the World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking to NOS, the midfielder took a dig at former Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal: "I have a better feeling with Koeman than with him". He also recalled that the new 'Oranje' coach tried to bring him to Barca during his time at the club.

Regarding his departure from PSG, Wijnaldum was full of praise for Jose Mourinho, who asked for his signing: "I felt that Roma wanted me very much and I feel that Jose Mourinho wants me to play under him a lot.

"The squad is also happy with me. I also felt that when I came back from injury," he added. And finally, he said he is "ready" and "hungry" to wear the national jersey again.
