Why are Chicarito and Vela not getting picked by Mexico?

Uncapped duo Raul Gudiño and Jose Van Rankin where the new faces in the Mexico squad chosen by Ricardo Ferretti for their upcoming matches. Ferretti has given lots of young players the chance to impress, leaving out a lot of familiar faces.

The exclusion of Chicarito, Layun, Dos Santos, Vela and Hector Moreno has surprised many. The reasons behind the manager's refusal to call them up have been revealed by Mexican journalist Nicolas Romay is 'Marca Clara'.

''As long as Ferretti is the manager of the 'Tri' he is certain that he wont call up Chicarito, Layun, Moreno, Dos Santos or Vela...The coach believes that they don't do the group any good and he'd prefer to give the oppurtunity to younger players'' he said. 

According to the Mexican site the Mexican federation want to talk to the players in the new year to try and arrive at an agreement between them and Ferretti.
