Trent Alexander-Arnold probably dreamed about this. During his Champions League debut for Liverpool, the 18-year old scored a stunning free-kick to give his side the lead and an important away goal against Hoffenheim. The youngster showed supreme confidence by stepping up over the likes of Emre Can and Jordan Henderson, taking and scoring the free-kick to put his side ahead.
But who are the other talents in the Liverpool academy waiting for their time to shine?
Here's a list of the starlets hoping to follow in Alexander-Arnold's footsteps to create history at the Merseyside club...
Harry Wilson
At the age of 16 years and 207 days, Wilson became the youngest player to represent Wales at a senior level, a record previously held by Gareth Bale. He has already made his Reds debut and is widely believed to have a bright future. He is a winger in the old-fashioned sense, always staying close to the touchline before cutting inside to beat his man and try with a shot or look for the assist. Now 20, the youngster had a spell on loan at Crewe Alexndra during the 2015/16 season but has since stayed in the academy set-up and under Jurgen Klopp he was brought into the first team training squad.
Yan Dhanda
Born in Birmingham, Dhanda plays in the traditional No. 10 role, just behind the striker, where he is tasked with the job of pulling the strings. The 18-year old is very highly thought of in the academy and has already targeted playing for the Liverpool first-team with his ambition to become the first player of Indian heritage to acheive this feat. Since joining Liverpool's academy from West Brom at the age of 14, the talented playmaker's stock has rised significantly, with several Championship clubs, including Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, requesting to take the player on loan.
Ovie Ejaria
Ejaria featured in Liverpool's recent pre-season tour of Asia and made promising progress under the ever-vigiland Jurgen Klopp. Ejaria, like Alexander-Arnold, has progressed much quicker than expected and is very close to reaching the first team already. He is a versatile midfielder and reportedly turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2015 to stay and make his name in England with the Merseyside club.
Sheyi Ojo
Pacey winger Ojo has just completed a loan move to Championship side Fulham, where Liverpool will hope he can continue his development and see him ready for first team action on his return to Melwood. Ojo was part of England's Under-20 World Cup winning squad this summer and having already made 8 senior appearances for Liverpool, he is a name already familiar with many fans and is often being compared to another former academy starlet - Raheem Sterling. He scored a superb solo goal in the 2015/16 FA Cup against Exeter at Anfield which made many football fans take notice.
Allan Rodrigues de Souza
Being unable to feature for the team, the 20-year old is somewhat a myth at Anfield. Signing from Internacional in 2015 at the age of 19 in a deal worth £500,000, work permit issues have affected Allan's time at Liverpool so far. However, despite this, it is clear how very high the club rate the young Brazilian. After seeing him in training, Klopp said of the midfielder: 'I saw him and I thought "oh my God, what can we do to keep this boy here and bring him into the line-up?"
