Spanish newspaper 'AS' have revealed some of the performance-related bonuses that could increase Hazard's total price, with the ex-Chelsea player joining Madrid in a deal worth an initial 100 million euros with unspecified add-ons.
The aforementioned source reported that the biggest bonus would be 30 million euros, although it is unlikely that it will have to be payed out. An example of what could trigger it would be Hazard winning the Ballon D'or which, whilst not impossible, shows the demanding nature of some of the bonus payments.
However, some of the add-ons are much easier to achieve. If Real Madrid qualify for the Champions League, they will have to pay a bonus to 'The Blues', and 'Los Blancos' haven't failed to do so since the 1996-97 season.
Most sources are reporting a total possible figure of 130 million euros, whereas English website 'BBC Sport' are suggesting that, if all bonuses are achieved, the total fee could reach 170 million euros.
Without official confirmation on the bonus payments, the only thing that is known for sure is that Real Madrid will pay an initial 100 million euros for a player that they have wanted at the Bernabéu for some time. Finally, club president Florentino Pérez has his new 'Galáctico' as Madrid look to rebuild after a disastrous season.
