West Ham sign Sao Paulo defender

West Ham have nearly got their first recruit in for 2023. His name is Luizao, a 20 year-old centre back who currently plays for Sao Paulo.

That is what the 'Daily Mail' claim, who add that the Hammers are not going to pay a penny to get him in. That is because the defender's contract ends on the 31st January 2023.

Therefore, West Ham are going to strengthen their defensive line with Luizao, who they have had their eye on throughout basically the whole of 2022: he has played 26 games, starting 19, and getting one goal in that time.

He will help out the Hammers a lot, as they battle to stay up. The English side are in 16th place and have 14 points, two above the relegation zone.
