The 25-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Serie A outfit last season and counted four goals and seven assists among his statistics.
Anderson also featured in Lazio's Europa League campaign for seven outings and scored three goals before the Italian side were knocked out by RB Salzburg in the quarter-finals.
The Brazilian joined Lazio back in 2013 from Santos - a club that boasts a roster of former players including Neymar, Pele and Robinho - in a £6.75million transfer.
West Ham are keen to wrap up their transfer business ahead of both the World Cup and the arrival of their newly-appointed manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The Hammers are striving to offer Pellegrini a strong starting point and are also seeking out Ryan Fredericks who was pivotal in Fulham's promotion campaign last season.
The 25-year-old defender will be out of contract come the start of next season, and Fredericks is yet to agree terms with the Whites on an extension deal.
