West Ham on verge of finalising Diop deal

The English media outlet claims a move was agreed in principle on Wednesday afternoon with an official announcement set for later this week.

Diop is captain of France's Under-23 side and made 37 appearances for Toulouse last season. 

The Ligue 1 side flirted heavily with relegation by finishing in 18th place, but a play-off win over Ajaccio ensured their top-flight status for another year.

If West Ham do push the deal over the line, Diop could be their second signing of the summer after they announced the arrival of right-back Ryan Fredericks earlier this month.

The 21-year-old centre-back could be joined by Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, with both parties in advanced talks over a summer transfer.
