The 'Terriers' beat Birmingham 4-1 in their FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday and now face United on home turf in the next round.
Speaking after the game against the 'Blues', Wagner was keen to stress his happinness at seeing Huddersfield's cup run continue, saying: “We are very happy to be in the next round to play Manchester United at home
“The fifth round is never a distraction, it is something not only the players but the supporters and whole town can enjoy.”
The topic of the conversation was quickly changed to how Huddersfield would go about stopping Sanchez, who scored against the Yorkshire-based outfit and generally caused problems in the Premier League game between the two sides last weekend.
“If he will be on the pitch then we try to defend him and if this means sometimes he is too quick, we have to foul him,” Wagner explained.
“It is not something that we like to do but this happens and it is because he is a top-quality player.”
