"We will do everything we can to sign Luuk de Jong"

PSV Eindhoven coach Ruud van Nistelrooy is excited about the possibility of bringing in Luuk de Jong as a new signing in this transfer window. The Dutch coach described him as an 'absolute priority'.

"We are doing everything for the return of Luuk de Jong. He is an exceptional striker for us. His return to PSV is not realistic at the moment, but it is possible," the former Real Madrid striker began.

And in the same vein, he made clear what the Eredivisie club's position is: "I have a lot of faith, but that doesn't mean it will happen. We will do everything we can and more to make this opportunity a reality".

De Jong has just ruled out an offer from Toluca as his intention is to continue in European football. The 31-year-old striker is due to return to Sevilla after his time at Barcelona, but he will have no place at the Andalusian club and will have to find a new team.

PSV Eindhoven, meanwhile, are dreaming of his return, as coach Van Nistelrooy, who wants to put together a good team for next season and return to fight for the local title against Ajax, has made clear.
