In Xavi's opinion, it was a clear handball from Fred in the box. "It's such a clear penalty", he said in the press conference after the game. And it's something the whole of Barcelona agree with.
Sporting Director Jordi Cruyff seemed more categorical. "We thought it was a handball. When four or five players who are playing react instantaneously you know it's something", he said to the media after the game.
"What's surprising is that VAR didn't look at it.... But we can't complain, we'll keep on working", Cruyff said. "It was a good game, the team had character, I'm happy", he summed up.
The board were left unsatisfied with the 2-2. "Maybe we could've got the 3-2 in the latest moments...", even though he admitted that "the result was quite fair".
The Sporting Director remembered that there is still the second leg: "Everyone knows that it's a two-legged game. I'm happy because away goals aren't worth more, like before. That means we start from scratch at Old Trafford. For the neutral, it's a great game. I think we can win in Manchester".
