The Scottish side had managed to remain unbeaten in Europe, including the qualification stages, until they traveled to the Russian capital.
But despite leading three time during the contest, they eventually ended up losing their unbeaten record thanks to conceding two goals in as many minutes around the hour mark.
Speaking after the game, centre-half Katic reflected on the disappointment that the team had in letting their positive streak in the Europa League end.
"It was a really unlucky game for us and we conceded four stupid goals," the defender told 'Rangers TV'.
We had the chance to take three points and make a big step to the last 32.
"But, it is what it is. We need to move from here and return for the game on Sunday [against Motherwell].
"We had a deal at half-time to try and take a clean sheet from the second half, but we lost two goals in two minutes and I don't know what to say about that."
